With new investment projects to implement submarine cable connectivity to all Pacific Island economies, and complemented by next generation high speed hybrid satellites, the Pacific Islands stand today much closer to the reality of diminishing the digital gaps and joining the family of economies in the information superhighway. Building strategies to advance from beyond these connectivity will need to be in place, modernizing access networks, develop application layers, and the necessary transformation required. What will be some of the key considerations for the Pacific for strategies, technology, and policies? How would the small island countries leverage on the sub-regional relationships and build confidence for regional approach? What should the islands prioritize?

This session invites discussions and views from eminent persons who can influence the key industry players, with contributions from the audience.
