Bio:Andrew Hankins is the Head of Architecture and Strategic Engineering at Telstra. He is responsible for the architecture and planning of Telstra’s core international network, including the submarine cable, transmission and IP networks.
Andrew has over 25 years of experience in international telecommunications, during which he held senior positions in engineering, network planning, operations, and the international carrier business. He has extensive industry experience in transmission, submarine cable, international telephony, satellite and Internet technologies and platforms.
Prior to joining Telstra, Andrew worked at Reach for 10 years where he held senior management posts in engineering and operations, with his last held position being Director of Engineering.
Andrew is the Chairman of AJC Cable, and holds directorship in Asia Netcom Philippines Corporation, Digitel Crossing INC, as well as Telstra’s Asia-Pacific entities.
Andrew has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Queensland, and an MBA from the University of Technology, Sydney.
