Bio:Wayne received his Master’s degree in Information from the School of Information at the University of Michigan. Upon graduation, he was awarded a GAANN doctoral fellowship to the School of Library and Information Science at Indiana University. He received his PhD in Information Science in 2011. As an Assistant Professor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, he has pursued several research projects that examine issues relating to digital citizenship and digital inequality. He teaches classes that look at the interplay between society and information and communication technologies (ICTs). In addition, he also serves as Undergraduate Chair for approximately 300 Communication majors.
His interest as a researcher includes examining the social aspects of information and communication technologies (ICTs), and is currently examining the various dimensions of citizenship and its relation to ICTs.
