Bio:Fernando Beltrán received a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia, and a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from Stony Brook University, State University of New York. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management, and a Co-director of DECIDE, The University of Auckland Business Decision Making Lab. Currently his work is on data pricing mechanisms under privacy protection, and data visualization using augmented/virtual reality in collaboration with the UoA Business School Aroaro Lab. His research on economics of broadband platforms, spectrum management, including spectrum sharing and spectrum auctions, and agent-based computational simulation has been published in IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, Telecommunications Policy, Journal of Information Policy, and Springer LNCS and Springer LNMES. Currently he is an Associate Technical Editor of IEEE Communications Magazine.
