Bio:Hoan Nguyen is currently a second year PhD student and a graduate fellow at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California. She received her MA in Mass Communication at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and her BSc. degree in Education from Hanoi National University of Education (Vietnam). Her research interests lie in the field of Information Communication Technologies and Society, with a focus on technology for social change, ICT4D, social and digital inequalities, and urban telecommunication infrastructure. Her work has been published in prestigious academic journals and conferences such as Journal of Information Technologies & International Development, International Journal of Communication, and International Communication Association annual conference. She was also a recipient of the 2017 ProSPER.Net Leadership Program Fellowship Award offered by United Nations University, Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability. Hoan will present her paper at PTC'20 on Sunday, 19 January 2020 in Strategies to Empower Development, which will be held from 15:30-16:45 in MPCC, South Pacific 2.
