Bio:Mr. Villyard brings more than 40 years’ of telecommunications experience from the military, private, and federal sectors. He is currently the Deputy Director overseeing the day-to-day branch administration and planning. His team is engaged in the preparation and support to all hazards restoration to Federal, State, and local governments and the COMM-ISAC under authorities in the National Response Framework Emergency Support Function (ESF) #2.
Prior to joining the Department of Homeland Security in 2010, Mr. Villyard built his expertise in the telecommunications industry for 12 years. As a regional manager, he controlled the engineering, installation, and operations of network equipment for Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. He oversaw a team that managed and completed multiple concurrent equipment installations in central offices in all commodities from packet/voice switches, IP/VOIP switches, SONET, and cellular infrastructure.
