Bio:Richard C. Vincent (Ph.D., 1983, University of Massachusetts-Amherst) is professor of Global Communication at Indiana State University. He is author of six books and monographs and numerous scholarly articles and chapters. His background is in Global Communication with emphases on social and political functions of media and ICT institutions and policies. He also works in news gatekeeping, news flow and framing. Vincent was Fulbright Scholar at Dublin City University, Ireland, during 1994-95. His first book on NWICO was coauthored with Johan Galtung (Global Glasnost; Toward a New International Information/Communication Order? 1992). He was active in the MacBride Round Table when on the faculty at the University of Hawaii-Manoa (1986-2001), having taken part in nine Round Tables and served as its Chair in 1994-95. His most recent book is Toward Equity in Global Communication? 2d ed. (NY: Hampton Press, 2016), coauthored with Kaarle Nordenstreng.
