Bio:Godo recently completed his DPhil on the social science of digital technologies from the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford, where he won the prestigious Oxford Clarendon Scholarship. His doctoral research looked at the adoption of mobile apps, platform strategy, and user behaviour on algorithmic systems. He spent several years doing interviews and ethnographic fieldwork on ride-hailing apps in the Philippines and Indonesia. He also led Oxford research on Smart Cities and other Artificial Intelligence projects in the government sector across leading cities in Asia. He has worked and engaged with app users, service providers, senior government officials, and tech executives during his research. He has published in international journals such as Information, Communication and Society, Development Policy Review, and the Journal of Australian Political Economy. Before transitioning to technology and research, he used to simultaneously work in investment banking, university teaching, and in the NGO scene.
