Bio:After a decade-long career in marketing and event planning, Lauren “fell” into a career in fiber optics when she started working for Sumitomo in 2016. She specializes in helping hyperscale data center customers find end-to-end product solutions in development of their global networks.
Most recently Lauren has utilized a combination from her dichotomous background into the joint collaboration of hosting Fusion Splicing Certification Courses across the country. She created and runs the events’ Career Networking Panel, interviewing industry all-stars on their passion of fiber optics.
She aims to create a safe environment for students to learn a new skill and discover the infinite potential a career in fiber optic communication can provide.
She has a BA in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is based in Raleigh, NC.
